We don't cut corners. Here's what sets us apart from every other detailer in Northeast Ohio.
Rupes, Flex, and Griots polishers with Meguiar's and Gyeon compounds — the same tools used at concours events.
We measure clear coat thickness before polishing for safe correction. Most shops skip this — we never do.
We'll pick up your vehicle and bring it back looking better than the day you bought it. Complimentary.
Our ceramic coating comes with a CarFax-backed warranty — adding documented value that shows when you sell.
Paint correction is the process of machine-polishing a gloss painted or gelcoat surface to permanently remove imperfections like swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, oxidation, and haze. Unlike wax or glaze that temporarily fills and hides defects, paint correction physically levels the clear coat to eliminate them. It is the only way to truly remove swirl marks and restore a factory-new appearance.
Results depend on your paint's age, condition, and remaining clear coat thickness — but in most cases you'll see a dramatic transformation in clarity, depth, and gloss. At Lucente Detailing in Akron, Ohio, we inspect every vehicle with a paint depth gauge before polishing to ensure safe correction and set honest expectations about what's achievable.
We use professional dual-action and rotary polishers with cutting-edge compounds to safely correct paint on everything from luxury cars and daily drivers to boats, RVs, farm equipment, and construction equipment. Paint correction is the essential first step before applying ceramic coating, as it ensures the coating bonds to a clean, defect-free surface for maximum longevity.
If you can see it or feel it on the surface, chances are we can polish it out.
Circular spider-web scratches from improper washing, automatic car washes, and dirty towels. The #1 reason customers call us.
Surface-level clear coat scratches from keys, branches, and general use. If your nail doesn't catch it, we can likely remove it.
That chalky, faded look from years of UV exposure. Common on boats, RVs, farm equipment, and outdoor-stored vehicles.
Mineral deposits from hard water and sprinklers that etch into clear coat. Left untreated, they become permanent.
Damage from bird droppings, tree sap, bug splatter, and road salt eaten into the paint surface.
That flat, lifeless look where paint has lost depth. We bring back the rich, wet-look gloss it had when new.
If it has a gloss painted or gelcoat surface, we can correct it.
Don't take our word for it — here's what Northeast Ohio drivers think.
"I had swirl marks all over my black BMW from the dealer car wash. Levi corrected every panel and sealed it with ceramic coating. It looks better than the day I picked it up from the dealership."
"Had our 24-foot boat polished after a rough season. The oxidation was terrible. Lucente brought the gelcoat back to life — looks brand new. Will be back every spring."
"Levi picked up my truck, did a full correction and ceramic coating, and brought it back looking like a mirror. The convenience of pickup alone is worth it. 10/10."

Results depend on your paint's condition, thickness, age, and type. We'll inspect your vehicle and give you an honest assessment before any work begins.
Paint correction restores your finish — but without protection, Ohio's road salt, UV, and contaminants will undo that work. Most of our customers add ceramic coating to lock in results for years. Ask about bundling both for the best value.
Text or call us a photo of your paint — we'll recommend the right correction.
Paint correction uses machine polishers and specialized compounds to permanently remove surface imperfections from your clear coat or gelcoat — swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, oxidation, and haze. Unlike waxing which temporarily hides defects, correction actually removes them.
Single-stage on a standard vehicle: 4–6 hours. Multi-stage for heavily damaged paint: 1–2 full days. Boats, RVs, and heavy equipment take longer based on size and condition.
Anything with a gloss painted or gelcoat surface — cars, trucks, SUVs, boats, RVs, motorcycles, farm equipment, construction equipment, fleets, and more. If it has gloss paint, we can restore it.
No — traditional paint correction is designed for gloss finishes only. Polishing a matte or satin surface would add unwanted shine and damage the intended texture. We can clean and protect matte paint with appropriate products, but machine correction is not suitable for these surfaces.
We can remove scratches within the clear coat layer — which covers the majority of visible scratches. If a scratch has gone through the clear coat into the base coat or primer (it usually catches your fingernail firmly), it cannot be fully removed through polishing. Those need touch-up paint or refinishing. We'll show you exactly what's correctable during our inspection — no guesswork.
Single-stage uses one polishing step and removes the majority of light swirls and haze. Multi-stage uses 2–3 steps with progressively finer compounds for more thorough correction on heavier defects. We'll inspect and recommend — never upsell what you don't need.
We strongly recommend it. Correction restores your finish, but without protection Ohio road salt, UV, bird droppings, and contaminants will gradually re-damage it. Ceramic coating seals in your results for 2–5 years with a CarFax-backed warranty. Most of our customers bundle both — learn more about ceramic coating.
You just invested in a flawless finish. Ceramic coating locks it in for years — not months. Here's what it adds:
